Spring is here in these fresh new paintings from 'The Backyard Artist", Kathy Brecheisen. Discover the world below the surface of 'The Koi Pond'. Light shines through a dark pool revealing brilliantly colored Koi. The fish frolic happily through ribbons of water-plants creating a dance of orange and white against the sapphire-blue shadows. Feathery fins and tails flow in hidden currents. A new and delightful world by "The Backyard Artist", Kathy Brecheisen. ............................................Artists...........................................................

Lush foliage does little to conceal the towering eye-spotted plumes of the stately peacock. Revealed in profile, the crested head and slender silvery neck are framed in iridescent blue-green plumage that entices you for a closer peak.

.............................Wikipedia........................
Peacock as with many birds, vibrant iridescent plumage colors are not primarily pigments, but structural coloration. Such structural coloration causes the iridescence of the peacock's hues, since unlike pigments, interference effects depend on light angle.
